Canmore's Sisters

Standing tall and timeless against the Alberta sky, the Three Sisters have long been symbols of strength, family, and connection. In this kaleidoscopic interpretation, I tried to capture not just their rugged beauty, but the energy they radiate and the sense of calm, resilience and harmony that you feel when you’re near them.

Painted in layers of vibrant colour, I think this piece is a joyful dance of light and shadow, where the mountains shimmer in prismatic hues and the sky melts into soft cotton candy tones. Beneath it all, I began as I always do, by writing positive affirmations across the blank canvas, setting an intention of peace and gratitude for nature’s wonder.

I feel like this painting is a love letter to the outdoors and to those who have stood on the trails below these peaks, breathed in the crisp mountain air and felt a quiet awe. It’s about capturing that fleeting moment when the sun kisses the summits, reminding us how deeply connected we are to the land and each other.

There’s something timeless about the Three Sisters mountains in Canmore. Those graceful peaks standing side by side and watching over the town. Every time I visit, I’m struck by their quiet strength and the way the light dances across them, changing their character with every passing cloud.

This one-of-a-kind original acrylic brings the Rockies’ soul indoors, offering a daily moment of calm, inspiration and awe for anyone who’s ever fallen in love with the mountains.
