"The Quiet Strength of Rundle"
This new oil painting of Mount Rundle came together after being away from painting this magnificent mountain for some time now. I used to paint it often, along with the Three Sisters and for some reason I had the most compelling urge to paint her yesterday. Yes, to me she is a "she/her" standing with such quiet strength and resilience, like so many women in my life. The men in my life are strong also, but to me, Rundle is a she. :)
I wanted to capture the mountain’s quiet strength and how it anchors the landscape while the light, water and sky tend to shift around it. There’s something deeply grounding about painting places that feel steady and enduring, especially when so much else feels in motion.
Painted entirely in oils, with expressive impasto brushwork, this piece is a why I return to these landscapes again and again even if it has be some time.
I often write positive affirmations on the canvas before I begin painting, and this piece carries that intention and a reminder that even when things feel uncertain, clarity and light always return.
Perfect for collectors who love contemporary Canadian landscape art, mountain scenes and artwork that brings calm, colour, and meaning into a space. This one-of-a-kind original makes a beautiful focal point in a living room, office, or creative retreat.
Note: This is a newly finished oil painting and will need a week or so to dry to the touch in order for it to be packaged securely for shipping.
International collectors: Please reach out here if you are interested in this piece and I will create a custom link for purchase.
